Opmerkingen

Buñol is a small municipality in Valencia, and like hundreds of other Spanish Republican towns in 1937, its municipal council was forced to print its own fractional currency after metallic coin disappeared almost entirely from circulation — hoarded, melted, or requisitioned for the war effort. These local emergency issues, known as "papel moneda local," were produced under wartime conditions with whatever printing resources existed at hand, which is why card stock thickness varies so significantly within the same series.

Gari Mon catalogues this as 373-A, suggesting at least one variant exists. The Turró reference confirms Republican-zone circulation.
