| Obverse description | Plain paper note printed in black letterpress, with a geometric rectangular border framing the entire face. The coat of arms of the Spanish Republic is positioned at the top center, above the municipal authority inscription and the stated denomination. The typographic layout is austere, consistent with wartime emergency issue production. |

Aguas de Busot is a small thermal spa municipality in the province of Alicante, and like hundreds of Spanish townships during the Civil War period, it issued its own emergency fractional currency when coinage virtually disappeared from circulation after 1936. These ayuntamiento-issued notes — often printed locally on whatever stock was available — were strictly local tender, acceptable only within the issuing municipality and frequently refused even a few kilometers away.
The Gari Montllor catalog remains the authoritative reference for these Valencia-region emissions, and the 18-A designation suggests at least one variety exists within this denomination.
