Reverse description A boar charging vigorously to the right in full stride, its bristled back and powerful forelegs rendered in high relief against a plain field. A wreath appears above the animal as a secondary symbol of honor or civic identity. In the exergue, below a dividing line, the Greek magistrate's name ΠΛΩΤΙΟΥ is inscribed, identifying this issue with a named local official of Salapia. The composition is characteristic of Apulian bronze civic coinage of the late 3rd century BC.
