Obverse description Beardless head of Herakles facing right, wearing the lion-skin headdress with the scalp pulled over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the neck, rendered in the characteristic robust Hellenistic style. The facial features are boldly modelled, with a strong jaw and prominent brow visible in profile. The lion-skin mane falls in stylised overlapping folds behind the head, filling the left field.
