| Obverse description | Turreted bust of Tyche facing right, wearing a mural crown with crenellated battlements rendered in relief. The portrait is depicted in profile with loose drapery visible at the shoulder. The partial Greek legend ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙ appears in the left field, identifying the issuing city of Ptolemais. The style is characteristic of Hellenistic provincial bronze coinage of Crete, with bold, somewhat schematic die-cutting. |
