Reverse description A bull charging and butting to the right, depicted in vigorous low relief with its head lowered and forelegs bent, conveying powerful forward momentum. The animal stands on a plain exergual line. The ethnic legend ΤΑΥΡΟΜΕΝΙΤΑΝ curves around the upper and outer field, identifying the issuing city of Tauromenion in Sicily. The bold, naturalistic rendering of the bull is consistent with the civic pride and artistic conventions of Sicilian mint production during the Hellenistic period.
