Obverse description Beardless head of Herakles facing right, wearing a wreath; auxiliary symbols, which may include a star, cornucopiae, shell, or club, appear sporadically in the field. The portraiture is rendered in a compact, provincial style characteristic of South Italian bronze coinage of the Hellenistic period.

Reverse description The Herakleian civic emblems are displayed in a stacked horizontal arrangement: a strung bow above, a knotted club in the centre, and a quiver below, all rendered in low relief. A Greek legend appears above the devices. The composition is typical of the autonomous bronze coinage of Herakleia in Lucania and underscores the city's mythological association with Herakles.
