Obverse description Draped bust of Hera facing right, wearing a stephane and with her hair gathered in a sakkos or bound with a diadem, rendered in fine archaic-to-classical Greek style. The hair falls in wavy locks along the neck, framing the serene, idealized facial features characteristic of Elean workmanship. The field is plain and unlettered.

Reverse description Nude figure of Zeus Horkios standing facing, head turned to the left, with arms outstretched and holding an eagle in each hand, emblematic of his role as chief deity of the Olympian sanctuary. To the left in the field appears the digamma (Ϝ), and to the right the retrograde legend ΠΟ (abbreviation for ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑ), identifying the issuing authority. The composition is bold and energetic, consistent with Elean bronze coinage of the late Classical period.
