| Reverse description | Central crowned quartered shield bearing the arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth: the Polish eagle in the first and fourth quarters, the Lithuanian Pursuer (Pogon) in the second and third quarters, with the Ciołek dynastic shield of the Poniatowski family in an inescutcheon at the fess point. The arms are encircled by a wreath of laurel and palm branches tied at the base, below which appear the mint master's initials FS and the denomination 4.GR. The circumferential legend, divided by the date 1766 on the left and the fineness notation LXXX.EX.MARCA on the right, reads in full LXXX.EX.MARCA PURA.COL:1766 F.S. 4.GR., indicating 80 coins struck from one Cologne mark of pure silver. |
