Obverse description Central field displays the Portuguese Royal Coat of Arms surmounted by a crown, flanked on either side by the Goa mint letters 'G' and 'A' in the field. The shield bears the characteristic Portuguese armillary sphere and castle design. The overall composition is contained within a beaded or rope border, consistent with the cast coinage tradition of Portuguese India. The design is rendered in low relief typical of cast copper coinage of the period.

Reverse description The denomination 'XII' in large Roman numerals occupies the upper portion of the field, with the date '1769' inscribed immediately below in arabic numerals. The legends are enclosed within a simple inner border of dots or pellets, and a decorative foliate or scroll ornament appears at the base of the field. The plain, utilitarian layout is characteristic of Portuguese colonial cast coinage struck at the Goa mint under King José I.
