Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company ran one of the more aggressive promotional coupon schemes in early twentieth-century American consumer marketing — the United Profit-Sharing program issued redeemable coupons packaged with gum purchases, designed to drive brand loyalty at a time when Wrigley was fighting hard for shelf space against established confectionery rivals. These coupons were printed on security paper with a banknote-style frame deliberately chosen to lend them weight and discourage counterfeiting, a real concern once redemption premiums became valuable enough to attract fraud.

The New York address reflects the program's distribution infrastructure rather than any manufacturing connection to Chicago, where the company was headquartered.
