Obverse description Central field features the rampant Bohemian lion passant to the left, depicted with double tail, set within a plain inner circle. The lion is rendered in the late Renaissance hammered style typical of Bohemian coinage of the period. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, reading MATTHIAS D G R I S A G H B REX, abbreviating the king's full royal titles as Emperor and King of Bohemia, Hungary, and Germany. The coin shows characteristic irregularity in flan shape and strike quality consistent with hammered production. The field is slightly worn but the heraldic device remains clearly defined.
