Obverse description Three-quarter bust of General Anthony Wayne in military uniform with epaulettes, facing slightly left, rendered in moderate relief. The name ANTHONY WAYNE appears in the field to the right of the effigy. A ring of small six-pointed stars encircles the entire design near the rim.

Reverse description Central device features a raised outline map of the state of Michigan, with a small star marking the location of Wayne in the lower peninsula.
