Soviet collective farm scrip — known broadly as kolkhoznye kvitantsii or internal vouchers — served as wage substitutes when cash allocations from state banks ran short, which was chronic by the late 1980s. Kolkhoz 'Zavety Lenina' in the Kirovohrad Oblast was not unusual in issuing these; hundreds of farms across the Ukrainian SSR did the same during the Gorbachev period, when the command economy was visibly unraveling but the institutional forms had not yet collapsed.
What makes this example notable is the printer: a municipal printing house in Oleksandriia, not a farm-internal duplicator. That implies an official sanction, however informal, and a production run with some pretense of legitimacy. The official seal substitutes for any proper security printing.
