Obverse description Essentially plain field with no central design, characteristic of Corieltauvian silver units of this series. On certain specimens, faint vestigial traces of a wreath motif are discernible in the field, representing a degraded survival of the classical wreath type inherited from Continental prototypes. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hand-struck hammered coinage of the late pre-Roman Iron Age in Britain.
