| Reverse description | A plain cross centered within an arched quatrefoil frame occupies the field, a motif characteristic of small feudal billon denominations of the period. The quatrefoil lobes are formed by four rounded arches enclosing the cross, lending a Gothic decorative character to the composition. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, separated from the inner device by a beaded or plain border. The strike is irregular and the flan slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-hammered production. |
