Reverse description A bold cross pattée centered within a quatrefoil formed by four trefoil lobes, a decorative device characteristic of Béarnese feudal coinage of the period. The quatrefoil frame fills the inner field, with the surrounding legend in Latin arranged in the peripheral area. The hammered fabric results in a slightly irregular flan with varying depth of strike across the design elements.
