Obverse description Two rabbits in high relief are depicted facing each other at centre on a mirror-polished field, set within a scalloped lotus-shaped flan. To the upper left, the Chinese cyclical characters 己卯 (Year of the Rabbit) appear in gilt relief, while the denomination legend 'US$1 Trade Dollar' is inscribed to the right. The legend 'SINGAPORE 1999' curves along the lower exergue, with the Singapore Mint mark at lower right.

Reverse description The reverse depicts Chang'e, the Chinese moon goddess, in flowing robes ascending amid swirling clouds in high relief at centre, accompanied by a rabbit to her right and a traditional Chinese pavilion to the left. Decorative cloud and wave motifs fill the field in fine engraved relief. The legend '20gm 925 Silver' is inscribed along the lower portion of the field.
