Obverse description Irregular square flan struck by hammer technique. The obverse bears a Brahmi legend reading 'Shosheniye' arranged within the field, accompanied by a symbol resembling a plant or tree motif in the lower portion and what appears to be an angular device or taurine symbol in the upper left area. The design elements are rendered in a bold, primitive style characteristic of early Indian punch-marked or cast civic coinage of the 2nd century BC. The surfaces display a dark olive-brown patina consistent with ancient copper alloy issues.
