Reverse description The reverse of this U-shaped gold fanam displays the characteristic plain, smooth, and slightly concave surface typical of hammered Chalukyan fanams of this type. The flan retains the natural flow marks and surface undulations produced during the hammering process, with no deliberate design or inscription present. The edges of the U-form show the irregular clipping and shaping consistent with hand-worked feudatory coinage of the Deccan, approximately 900–1200 CE. The plain reverse contrasts with the decorated obverse, a feature commonly observed in MSI-catalogued fanams of this series.
