Reverse description A panoramic view of the city of Gdańsk (Danzig) as seen from the Motława River, depicting the skyline with its numerous towers, steeples, and the characteristic architecture of the city in high relief. Above the cityscape, radiant sunbeams emanate from a divine celestial symbol (the Tetragrammaton in Hebrew characters) in the upper field. In the lower portion, the arms of Gdańsk — two white crosses on a red shield surmounted by a crown and supported by two lions — appear flanked by the mintmaster's initials G–R. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded border with the Latin civic legend distributed around the periphery.
