| Obverse description | Crowned bust of Stefan Batory facing right, wearing a closed crown adorned with pellets and foliage, with a bearded and mustachioed visage rendered in bold relief. The king is depicted in armour with a ruffled collar visible at the truncation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, separated from the portrait by the coin's inner field. The die-work is characteristic of the late sixteenth-century hammered coinage of the Wilno mint, with strong modelling of the facial features. The legend reads STEPH D G REX PO M D L, identifying Stefan Batory as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is dominated by a central composition featuring the arms of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania — the mounted armoured knight (Pahonia) to the right — flanked by the Polish eagle to the left, with the Vilnius city arms shield (an ox head with a cross) displayed centrally below the denomination numeral III at the top. The mint date is divided across the field, with the year split on either side of the central shield. Four lines of Latin inscription fill the lower portion of the field, reading GROS ARG TRIP M D LIT, identifying the coin as a silver triple grosch of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The overall design is compact and heraldically precise, consistent with Batory-era coinage from the Wilno mint. |
