Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Stanisław August Poniatowski occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed flowing curled hair falling to the neck in the late Baroque court style. The portrait is strongly modelled with a sharp profile characteristic of Holzhaeusser's engraving work. A toothed inner border frames the design, while the Latin circumferential legend, separated by stops, reads STANISLAUS AUG D G REX POL M D L, identifying the king as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania by the grace of God.
