Reverse description The reverse displays a bold four-line Latin inscription in the central field reading III / GROSS:AR / TRIP:CIVI / GEDANEN, denoting the denomination as three silver groschen of the triple city of Gdańsk. Below the inscription, flanked by the last two digits of the date (82), is the crowned coat of arms of the city of Gdańsk — a shield bearing two crosses beneath a crown — with the mintmaster's mark to the left. The legends and heraldic device are rendered in the characteristic hammered style of the late sixteenth-century Gdańsk mint. A beaded inner border frames the entire reverse design.
