| Obverse description | Crowned and draped bust of Sigismund III Vasa facing right, wearing a ruffled collar, rendered in the high-relief hammered style typical of late 16th-century Polish coinage. The king's crown is ornate with fleurs-de-lis and scroll-work decoration above the brow. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading SIG III DG REX PO M D L, abbreviated for Sigismundus III Dei Gratia Rex Poloniae Magnus Dux Lithuaniae. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner border. |
