Obverse description Crowned, bearded bust of Sigismund III Vasa facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and royal mantle, rendered in the late Renaissance style typical of Polish hammered coinage. The crown is an open-arched royal crown with floral finials. The royal effigy dominates the field, with the truncation at the lower portion of the coin. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading SIG III DG REX PO M D LI, identifying the king as Sigismund III, by the grace of God King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania.
