Obverse description Facing head of a lion in archaic style, rendered with bold, schematic relief characteristic of early Massalian coinage. The mane is depicted as a series of radiating ridges fanning outward from the crown, and the facial features — including the eye, muzzle, and open jaws — are rendered with a primitive but vigorous plasticity. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hammered fractional silver of the period. No legend or inscription is present in the field.
