Obverse description Forepart of an elephant's head facing right, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail, the trunk curling downward toward the lower field. A bell suspended from a strap hangs beneath the animal's neck, serving as a dynastic emblem associated with the war elephants of the Seleucid royal tradition. The flan is irregular and unbordered, consistent with hammered bronze coinage of the Hellenistic period.
