Obverse description Forepart of a wolf in a crouching or lunging posture to left, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail. The animal's head is lowered and mouth open, characteristic of the Argive civic type evoking the sacred wolf of Apollo. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of late Hellenistic hammered coinage from the Peloponnese.
