Obverse description Facing head of a lion rendered in bold archaic relief, depicted full-face with large, deeply set eyes, a broad flat muzzle, and open jaws. The mane is rendered as a series of stylized parallel ridges arching over the crown of the head, flanked by rounded ears projecting to either side. The modeling is vigorous and characteristic of early Pontic Greek coinage, with pronounced musculature around the cheeks and forehead. No legend or inscription appears in the field.

Reverse description An eight-rayed stellate pattern, with alternating pointed and rounded teardrop-shaped rays radiating from a central pellet-and-ring boss, all contained within a dotted or beaded square border. This decorated square is itself set within a larger incuse square, the recessed area framing the design on all four sides. The overall composition is highly geometric and characteristic of early Greek coinage from the northern Black Sea region. No inscription or legend is present.
