| Obverse description | Poseidon striding to the left, depicted in vigorous motion and rendered in archaic Greek style typical of the mid-fifth century BC. The deity is shown nude, with his right arm raised and brandishing a trident, while his left arm is extended forward. The figure occupies the majority of the field, with the irregular flan creating an uneven border around the design. The surfaces show characteristic die-hammered texture and natural patination consistent with an ancient silver coin of Magna Graecia. |
