Obverse description Facing head of a lion rendered in bold archaic relief, depicted full-face with prominent globular eyes, a broad flat muzzle, and ears visible at the upper periphery. The modelling is vigorous and stylized, characteristic of early Pontic Greek coinage, with incised lines suggesting the mane across the upper field. The design occupies the full flan, which is irregular and slightly convex, with no legend or inscription in the field.
