| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet decorated with a hippocamp on the bowl. The goddess's features are rendered in fine relief typical of South Italian Greek coinage of the late Classical period. The neck is visible in profile, and the cheek-guards of the helmet frame the face closely. |
