Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back to reveal the face, rendered in fine archaic-influenced relief characteristic of Kyrenaean mint production of the late fourth century BC. The goddess's facial features are rendered with careful attention to detail, the helmet crest and cheekpieces clearly delineated. The flan is small and of irregular shape, consistent with hammered gold coinage of the period. No legend or inscription appears in the field.
