| Obverse description | Griffin seated to the right in a dynamic, vigorous pose, with outstretched forelegs and upswept wings, the head turned forward with open beak. A small bunch of grapes or berry cluster is visible to the lower left of the griffin in the field. The design is rendered in the archaic Greek style with bold, assured die-cutting typical of Thracian mint work of the early Classical period. |

| Reverse description | Incuse square divided into four quadrants by a raised linear cross, creating a mill-sail or quadripartite incuse punch pattern. Within the incuse, a partially visible forepart or head of a griffin is discernible in relief at center, reflecting the obverse type in the manner characteristic of early Abderite coinage. The incuse is recessed with squared, sharply cut borders. |
