| Reverse description | A large, bold Greek capital letter Alpha (Α), the initial of Argos, occupies the majority of the reverse field, its crossbar rendered as a distinctive double-axe or bipennis symbol — a characteristic secondary type of Argive civic coinage. The entire design is set within a recessed incuse square with well-defined borders, a hallmark of early and transitional Peloponnesian silver coinage. The incuse square and bipennis device serve as both civic identifier and secondary symbol of authority. No additional legend is present. |
