Reverse description Ajax the Lesser, depicted as a nude warrior advancing to the right in a dynamic pose. He carries a large round shield on his left arm, the interior of the shield decorated with a hippocamp (sea-horse) facing right, serving as an episema. In his raised right hand he wields a short sword (xiphos). The warrior wears a laurel wreath on his head. In the lower right field, a trident head appears as a secondary symbol. The ethnic legend ΛΟΚΡΩΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing community of Opuntian Lokris.
