| Obverse description | Sphinx seated to right in profile, rendered in archaic Greek style with finely engraved feathered wings spread prominently behind the body. The creature's leonine haunches and curling tail are depicted in low relief against a plain field, while the human head bears a distinct upward-rising plume or crest atop the crown. The chest is detailed with a beaded or granulated texture, characteristic of early Thraco-Macedonian die-cutting.
