| Reverse description | A labrys (double-headed axe), the principal civic symbol of Tenedos, depicted upright and centrally placed within the field. The Greek letters ΤΕ, abbreviating the ethnic ΤΕΝΕΔΙΩΝ, appear flanking the upper shaft of the labrys — Τ to the left and Ε to the right. A monogram appears to the lower left of the axe handle and a six-pointed star to the lower right, serving as subsidiary control marks. The design is boldly struck in high relief against a rough, granular field. |
