Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet adorned with a laurel wreath; the cheek-pieces of the helmet are rendered in fine archaic style, with flowing hair locks visible below the helmet rim. The portrait is executed in high relief characteristic of early South Italian coinage, with bold, confident engraving. The field around the head is plain, and the flan is irregularly shaped as typical of hammered coinage of this period.

Reverse description A bull standing right in a striding posture, head turned back to the left in the characteristic incuse style associated with Thourioi coinage; the musculature of the animal is rendered with naturalistic detail. The ethnic inscription ΘΟΥ appears in the field, serving as an abbreviated legend identifying the issuing city of Thourioi. The composition reflects the standard reverse type adopted by Thourioi across its silver denomination series, symbolizing the city's agrarian prosperity and its Achaean colonial heritage.
