Obverse description Helmeted head of Roma facing right, rendered in the bold Republican style typical of second-century BC aes grave coinage. The goddess wears a winged Corinthian helmet, with facial features rendered in moderate relief on the irregularly shaped flan. Four pellets, the value mark identifying the denomination as a triens (one-third of an as, equal to four unciae), are placed behind the head in the left field.

Reverse description Prow of a Roman war galley facing right, depicted in profile with characteristic architectural detail including the acrostolium, wales, and foredeck rail rendered in typical Republican aes coinage style.
