Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Hadrian facing right, the breastplate decorated with a gorgoneion. The emperor is depicted with a short beard in the Hellenistic tradition, his laureate wreath rendered in fine detail. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, occupying the full border of the flan. The portrait exhibits strong provincial die-cutting typical of the Tarsus mint, with bold relief and characteristic Hadrianic physiognomy.
