Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet with cheek guards partially raised, the flowing locks of hair visible beneath the helmet bowl. The portrait is rendered in confident, high-relief engraving characteristic of late Syracusan civic coinage. The facial features are finely articulated, with a pronounced profile typical of the Hellenistic artistic tradition. The field is plain, and the design is enclosed within a border of dots.
