Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, wearing a crested Attic helmet with cheek guards. The goddess's facial features are rendered in a bold, somewhat archaic style characteristic of Akarnanian civic coinage of the late Classical period. The helmet crest rises prominently above the cranium, and the cheekpiece frames the face closely. The flan is irregular and the relief, though worn, retains clear definition of the helmet's contours against the plain field.

Reverse description Youthful, beardless head of Herakles in right profile, clad in the scalp of the Nemean lion worn as a headdress, with the beast's jaws framing the hero's crown. The lion skin is rendered with schematic detail typical of Akarnanian bronze coinage of the late Classical to early Hellenistic period. The ethnic inscription ΑΛΥΖΑΙ appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Alyzia. The overall style reflects the regional die-cutting tradition of northwestern Greece.
