| Obverse description | An eagle depicted in profile standing to the left, rendered in low relief characteristic of early Sicilian cast bronze coinage. The bird's form, though worn, conveys the civic emblem of Akragas — the eagle being sacred to Zeus, the principal deity of the city. The casting seam and irregular flan are typical of the cast aes grave tradition of this period. |
