Additional information

Trial strikes from the Casa de Moneda de Chile occupy an awkward documentary status — produced to test dies, planchet tolerances, or proposed compositional changes, they were never intended to circulate and rarely entered any official record. Whether this piece represents a rejected compositional proposal for the 100 Pesos denomination or simply a die proof struck on an available bronze planchet is difficult to establish without provenance. The Santiago mint has not published comprehensive trial strike documentation for this series.
