Reverse description A floriated cross with trefoil terminals at each arm, set within a plain inner circle and a beaded border, occupying the central field of the reverse. The cross arms are boldly struck, with decorative floral or foliate finials lending an ornate Gothic character to the design. A devotional legend in uncial script surrounds the cross within the outer border, reading +SIT * NOMEII * DNI * BNDTM, an abbreviated form of the Vulgate doxology Sit nomen Domini benedictum.
