Wittiza's reign is notable for a partial rehabilitation of Jews expelled under earlier Visigothic legislation — a political reversal that drew sharp criticism from the Toledo clergy. His Córdoba mint output, of which this tremissis is a product, is sparsely documented, and surviving pieces attributable to that workshop are genuinely scarce. The kingdom collapsed entirely within two years of his death, rendering the entire late Wittiza series a terminal chapter in Visigothic coinage.
