Obverse description Facing bust of King Wamba rendered in the schematic Visigothic style, with a globular head and stylised facial features. The figure is depicted wearing regal garb, with arms extended and holding a cross or sceptre, consistent with late Visigothic royal iconography. The design is executed in bold, flat relief characteristic of hammered Visigothic tremisses. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central effigy within a plain inner border. The overall composition reflects the declining classical tradition adapted to the artistic conventions of seventh-century Iberia.
