| Obverse description | Facing bust of King Wamba in the central field, rendered in the schematic, highly stylized manner characteristic of late Visigothic coinage, with a radiate or diademed crown depicted in a simplified fashion above the head. The bust is shown with a forward-facing orientation, with rudimentary facial features and draped shoulders. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading + I N D · I N · M VVAMBA P, referencing the king's name and title. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. The hammered flan exhibits the irregular outline typical of seventh-century Visigothic tremisses. |
